Director, Customer Relations Sonnen

Annemarie has extensive experience in sustainable innovation and technology. She is Director of Customer Relations at sonnen GmbH, a German scale-up that is a leading pioneers in the field of residential solar battery storage and energy contracts, recently bought by Shell.  Sonnen’s solar battery is a highly innovative, intelligent battery system offering much more than just an energy storage solution. The system comprises several added value features such as smart home, smart meter, PV-monitoring and charging EV-cars. Sonnen's network of connected home storage systems was the first of its kind to be prequalified in 2018 for grid stabilization on a national level. Sonnen has become a big virtual power plant for and with its customers.

At sonnen, Annemarie is responsible for all processes and revenue related to sales and services in Germany, the DACH region and most of Europe.  In the last four years sonnen grew 359 %, and is preparing its business for further growth to slowly reach the mass markets . Before joining sonnen, Annemarie worked at scale-ups like Optimizely and Tesla, but also at established brands like Heineken and E.ON.

Annemarie holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Leiden University, specializing in European sustainable energy policy. She also studied at Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Amsterdam, completing minors and bachelor degrees.
