Jean-Pierre Braun

Nokia
With 25 years of experience
in telecommunications, including 23 in Services, Jean-Pierre had many regional
and global leader positions in Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia including VP EMEA
Services and VP Global Field Force.
He started his career as a
computer Science engineer, and after several positions as a SW leader, finally
moved into Services for Telecommunications. Leadership in Services businesses
with a need for transformation have always been his passion.
Since 1997, Jean-Pierre has an
extensive leadership experience in Telecommunications Services, starting with
10 years of Mobile Networks Services for Africa-Middle-East, then Services EMEA
all technologies, then Global leader for Applications Services, and finally Global
Field Force leader for Nokia. He has managed international teams up to 4900 persons,
and a turnover up to 5 Beuros
- From 84 to 90 Thomson and GEMS France, SW leader for CT-scan and
ultrasound : product rationalization over 3 continents
- From 90 to 91 GEC-Alstom, SW leader for automated Train Control
Systems. Using advanced methods e.g. Embedded Formal Proof, Integration and validation lead times
were divided by 4x
- From 92 till 2009 Alcatel-Lucent: several management positions in
Mobile Networks:
- R&D integration leader for the 1st release of GSM.
- Project Manager for Telstra in Australia,
- Head of Global Radio Engineering.
- VP, MEA Mobile Networks Services: revenues grew from 60Me to 2Be,
reaching 10% of the whole Alcatel business.
- VP, EMEA Services: After
the merger with Lucent, took Services all technologies (5Be, almost 5000
HC).
- 2010-2013: Restructured the Applications Services business, where Quality
was the main challenge. reorganized all Services into a global
organization, with Global SW factory, and applying a unique SW integration
methodology called AIM. Results were 20% productivity increase, increase
customer sat by 0.7pt.
- 2013-2015: Services for Wireless EMEA. focusing on PMO, Customer
engineering and control tower.
- 2016-now Nokia: VP, Field Force: 4300 Field Force headcount and 1.4 Beuros
costs including subcontracting. Increase of productivity was 8% in 2017, whilst improving quality
and defect-free sites by 18 pts.
Jean-Pïerre lives in Paris
with his partner Helen. They have 2 grown-up children aged 29 and 26, and a
dog.
