An AI assistant can cite an authentic manual and still give an answer for the wrong machine configuration. For service teams, the challenge is to connect each answer to the physical assembly, the intended component and the approved information that applies, and make that knowledge available where the work happens. From 20 January 2027, the EU Machinery Regulation permits digital instructions subject to specific conditions. As manufacturers reconsider how they deliver equipment knowledge, they must also establish where proprietary information is processed, who can retain it and what remains usable when connectivity disappears. Using an illustrated service scenario, this session follows knowledge from CAD and approved documentation to the engineer's device. It examines component identification, revision applicability and data handling, then compares customer-owned local infrastructure with a fully provisioned on-device experience. Attendees will leave with practical acceptance questions and a pilot checklist for evaluating correctness, verification time, data control, availability and total operating cost.
