Mark Schiphorst

VP Global Service Excellence Thermo King

Mark Schiphorst is the vice president of Service Excellence for Transport Solutions North America and EMEA, a strategic business unit (SBU) of Ingersoll Rand and a brand known as Thermo King.

He is responsible for supporting Transport Solutions’ regions and integrating key functions to help advance the SBU’s service excellence strategy. In this role, Schiphorst works closely with Thermo King’s connected solutions, engineering, information technology and operational excellence teams to help improve the consistency and caliber of services delivered by our dealers to our customers. He is part of the Thermo King Leadership Team.

Schiphorst joined Ingersoll Rand in 2013, first serving as vice president of Procurement for EMEA Ingersoll Rand Corporate before moving to vice president of Procurement for Transport Solutions North America and EMEA where he was responsible for procurement strategy development and execution in North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific (Global Marine).

Previously, Schiphorst worked for 15 years in the Aerospace industry with Fokker Technologies where he served in various roles including project management, program management, account management and general management. During his tenure, Schiphorst grew business with Boeing Commercial Airplanes substantially. He also spent five years with Philips Electronics as director of procurement for its Fluorescent SBU and as senior director of its Professional Lighting SBU. While at Philips, Schiphorst implemented the Design for X program aiming to optimize material cost through design changes in new and existing products. He did this together with McKinsey & Company, driving double-digit productivity.

Schiphorst holds a Bachelor of Science in navel engineering from the University of Amsterdam. He is based out of Brussels, Belgium.
